macOS Golden Gate (macOS 27)

Product Information

macOS Golden Gate (macOS 27) will be released on September 14th 2026.

When Golden Gate is released, it will NOT be supported by Academic Technology.  We recommend not upgrading until our SCU applications have been tested.

Recommendation

The macOS versions currently supported by Academic Technology / Technology Support Services are:

  • macOS Sonoma (14)
  • macOS Sequoia (15)
  • macOS Tahoe (26)

System Requirements

Apple has announced the following models will support macOS Golden Gate:

  • MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • Mac mini with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • iMac with Apple silicon (2021 and later)
  • Mac Pro with Apple silicon (2023 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022 and later)
  • MacBook Neo (2026)
  • Note Mac models with Intel processors are not supported

NOTE - Academic Technology will not be testing macOS Golden Gate until the final (not a "beta" release) version is released by Apple.
