Devon Coombs
Devon Coombs, CPA, MBA, is the Faculty Director of Real Estate Finance and an Assistant Teaching Professor of Finance at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. His teaching and professional interests include finance, accounting, artificial intelligence, emerging business models, and strategic decision-making.
Before joining Santa Clara University, Devon worked at Deloitte, Riveron, and Google Cloud. At Google Cloud, he served as a finance and technical accounting leader, partnering with cross-functional executives on significant commercial and strategic matters, including technology partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, marketplaces, and consumption-based business models. Across his career, he has supported transactions representing more than $100 billion in aggregate value.
Devon is also the founder of Devon Coombs LLC, an advisory and education practice focused on complex transactions, finance transformation, technical accounting, and applied artificial intelligence. He has taught finance, accounting, real estate, and business for more than eight years across universities, community colleges, and professional education programs, and has trained more than 10,000 professionals. Devon is the author of The 10 Laws of Finance, a book on the application of financial principles across personal finance, investing, careers, corporate strategy, and leadership. He is also a contributor to the Financial Executives Journal and has discussed finance, accounting, careers, and business topics through the Gaapsavvy and Ambition Aligned podcasts.
His current teaching and professional interests include financial decision-making, real estate finance, emerging business models, complex transactions, and the application of artificial intelligence in finance and accounting.
