What are you doing this summer? This summer, I interned in the transactions group at EY-Parthenon, specializing in analytics. I was able to support several TMT companies undergoing M&A diligence. My group in particular focused on top line revenue analytics, understanding and normalizing annual recurring revenue, gross revenue retention, and net revenue retention.
Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. This summer I was able to see how important face time and interaction with senior executives mattered. Being remembered and liked by the leader in your group/team matters the same if not more than the work that is done.
What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my summer experience was building a fully dynamic and formatted Excel databook.
What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities? I would highly encourage focusing more on a couple internships or opportunities and talking to people who work there rather than casting an overly wide net and applying to a multitude of different industries and sectors.
