What are you doing this summer? This summer, I interned with the Process and Controls team at EY in the San Francisco office. My role focused primarily on assisting a large-scale AI infrastructure client as they navigate SOX compliance and process risk while preparing to IPO. Along with my internship, I was able to complete an online class, backpack, and write fellowship applications for graduate school.

Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. Never be afraid to ask for help. For the vast majority of roles, on-the-job training is a huge part of talent development and joining any new team. Regardless of whether you're entering the workspace full-time or as an intern, you are there to learn, and frequent touch points are always helpful, regardless of how tempting it is to attack a problem until you fix it yourself.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? I connected with my internship class by forming a pick-up basketball team to play after work. Catch me at Joe DiMaggio park!

What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities? Many students, myself included, work diligently to build a resume to check the boxes of a certain internship or opportunity. As you navigate your time in college and are drawn to various activities, I encourage you to allow your passions and interests to lead you towards a career rather than allowing a career to determine those passions and interests.
