What are you doing this summer? This summer, I am interning with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, where I am gaining hands-on experience in investment analysis, portfolio management, and client-focused financial planning. I am also learning how financial advisors evaluate market opportunities and develop strategies tailored to clients’ long-term financial goals.

Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. One of the biggest lessons I learned this summer is the importance of building strong relationships and being willing to ask questions. I also learned that being dependable, prepared, and open to feedback can make a major difference in both professional growth and the way others trust and work with you.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my summer was getting to see how financial decisions are made in a real-world setting and learning directly from experienced professionals. It was especially rewarding to see how the work I was doing connected to actual client goals and long-term financial planning.

What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities?

Start early, stay open-minded, and don’t be afraid to reach out to people for advice or networking opportunities. A lot of opportunities come from being proactive and building relationships, not just submitting applications.
